I've got some time today and I am really trying to put off doing that laundry that I've been leaving unfolded for the past few days while I've been out of town at my internship. When you often get stuck working overtime and have over an hour commute each day, sometimes things at home are left undone. Not that I want to leave my *no excuses resolution just because things have gotten a little bit busier these days, but sometimes exceptions are more important than the rule, right?
Prioritizing my life seems to be a daily struggle too. In the grand scheme of things, the most important things are probably to work hard, trust God, and become a better person each day. But sometimes that means that I will take one too many chances to eat out with a friend, or put off some pressing stuff in the name of keeping my sanity by having a little more fun (although I'm pretty sure I could do without much of it). Hence, this post shall be called recommitted. Recommitted to taking a few minutes for blogging, recommitted to keeping my priorities a bit more in line (notice the lightness of that commitment.. haha a BIT), and recommitted to folding my laundry in a timely manner. ;)
I also have decided to join a book club. Not that I'll have time between internship, commuting, dating, schoolwork (for the internship), church activity, etc. but I will try.
Graduation is also looming and I am trying to figure out where I best fit as a contributing member of society. I am interning at a hotel/timeshare right now and am looking at post-internship options. It seems like they'd like me to stay there, but another winter in utah isn't exactly my cup of tea. at all. Even though I like my coworkers a lot and the company and I'm interested to see Park City during the Sundance Film Festival and not move too far away from my sister and familiarity, I am still considering leaving.. especially after those gorgeous young professionals checked into the hotel from Scottsdale the other day.. my cousins/aunts/uncles' encouragement to move down to the great state of AZ just received a couple extra dosages of positive reinforcement.
Well, that's about where I'm at these days. I work, sleep, eat, work out, stress out, and do it all again. Hopefully once the summer is over I can get my life back in order again, but then again, I might just find another excuse why the clean laundry is still left unfolded come September. and then maybe I'll just buy myself another plane ticket to some far away land and go on another adventure like I tend to do.
