what a crazy week

This week was good, but spattered with some of the lowest lows from my entire college experience thus far. I am considering moving out of my apartment, and an opportunity has come up for me to potentially live in a really nice apartment complex for a little less than what I pay currently. I'd have my own room, a sweet kitchen with granite countertops, and only four girls in my apartment.
This all hinges on whether or not I will be able to sell my contract to a friend of mine who's interested, and what I think of the new ward. I am going to attend it tomorrow and just test it out. I have been praying about this a lot and know that its up to me to make the choice, and either way things will be okay, but at the same time I am worried about the consequences-- whether I stay here or I move. There seem to be a lot more PROs than CONs to move but I will really miss my roommates, and I would just hope we'd hang out still. But I have a few days to make my decision, and we'll see...

In other news, I went dancing last night again. It was a little slow at first, but definitely picked up by the end. Here are a few pictures from the night :)

I don't like TAs.

I wrote my BOM TA four days ago to ask if I need to to provide a doctor's note to miss class on wednesday for my Upper Endoscopy. The appointment was yesterday and she responded after the appointment was over so I never asked for one. Now she's telling me I have to get a note or else they won't excuse the absence, not even the referral slip with the date and time on it will be okay.

and that makes me super grumpy, because its a pain to deal with calling the doctor etc.

OK enough with the grumpiness.

In other news, they found out what is wrong with my stomach--- hiatus hernia, sounds gross... and kind of is. The acid reflux is worsened by the fact that part of my stomach is being pushed up into where the esophagus is, or atleast thats my understanding. I don't know if it will ever really get better, they didn't talk to me much afterwards because I was still really groggy- just gave me a handout and wheeled me out into the parking lot with Rachel.

And... there is another dance party this weekend :)

and I think i'm mostly just grumpy because I'm stressed and sick. not a fun combination.

A little late on the resolutions

I made my New Years' resolutions this week. Its a bit late, I am aware, but I still decided to make them.

1. Keep up with my studying and do as much of the readings for my classes as possible.
2. Not dwell on things past as much. Concentrate on the present and the future.
3. Work out atleast 3x per week.
4. Read the Book of Mormon before the end of the semester again.
5. Don't judge as much. Be nicer to people and give them a chance.

So those are some of them. They are both very difficult and very easy at the same time, so we'll see how this goes.

Also. I am getting my esophagus scoped this coming Wednesday. I've got acid reflux and they are checking the damage. The worst part about this whole GERD ordeal is that I can't eat a whole bunch of things. Ex. tomatoes, citrus, mint, fatty foods, chocolate, onions, garlic, spicy foods.... which means no mexican or italian food, my main lifesource here at college. At the same time, I am going off sugar with Mom and Dad, so it is becoming increasingly more difficult to find satisfying yummy things, and takes a lot of self-control. At the same time, I am trying to stay positive about it, because it might be a blessing in disguise that will help me lose some weight, which is always nice. SO. that's my life right now, and its pretty good. not fabulous but pretty good.

Thinking again

As the new semester begins, I am once again stuck in that strange place between being incredibly optimistic about what will come in my life, and being even more so depressed about the sad state of things as they sometimes are and may continue to be. Although I am torn in this respect, I am overall happy about the way things are going and have little to complain about.

1. I have a great job, actually two great jobs. Shelving at the HBLL and working as a Writing Fellow tutoring. I will be working with a geology class on Dinosaurs! haha and I'm working that job with Rachel :)

2. I have a good apartment with great girls. I feel very blessed to have roommates who are strong in the gospel and tidy and kind and fun. Its a hard balance to attain and we do a pretty good job.

3. I finally chose a major and am on my way to becoming... who knows what, but hopefully something cool. A few of the classes I'm taking this semester are going to be difficult, but I can manage I think. I have friends in the program now and am starting to meet other people in several of my classes.

4. I'm most likely staying in Provo for spring/summer terms. I don't want to go back home this summer because last summer was boring and I felt useless. There isn't much left for me in Oregon City, a few friends but that's about it. I feel like I'm a different, better, more fun person in Utah. Not that I change myself but that I am more comfortable? I don't exactly know how to explain it.

5. I have a great family back home who loves me a lot. That is a huge blessing in my life.

6. My testimony has grown a lot in the past semester.

7. I am going to start preparing for a mission, because I am almost positive that is the direction my life is heading in.Yeah of course I would like to find that special someone to spend the rest of my life/eternity with, but at the same time, if that isn't what Heavenly Father has in store for me now, I will accept it and continue on with my life, striving to be the best person I can be. That's a hard place to be in, because I want so much to date, but it just hasn't happened for me, I don't know why. So I'm doing the best I can. Today I kind of took a break from everything. All my roommates left for the fireside early; I was planning on watching President Monson from the comfort of my living room. I did my BOM homework and had some time to just relax and think about everything. It was really good for me.
