Me, Four Russians, one Japanese, and a DB

Tonight Larisa invited me to join her and some friends for FHE/dessert in our dining room. I was a bit worried that it would be awkward because there were 4 other international students coming, and they would probably want to speak their own languages. It turned out to be very fun, and I enjoyed hearing the other languages spoken. There was an RM recently back from Japan and my Japanese naighbor, Naoko, three russians and my Russian roommate Larisa, and me. Now they were all very nice, but at the same time, the american guy reminded me of a taller version of Christian Hennessey and Phillip Abraham combined. He was a complete DB. I mean, he was nice, but you could tell he thought he was the shiznit. and that gets on my nerves. BUT I absolutely love the world and people from all over. Its amazing how we can all relate on various topics even though it is obvious how different our individual backgrounds are. astounding...

Booted

Yesterday morning I was on my to a 5k race, when lo and behold, my car was booted. Now, this was mostly my fault, because I hadn't taken the time during the busy week to get the parking sticker on my vehicle. I realized that, and was grumpy anyways because it would cost me $50! Thats two weeks worth of food, six hours of work, ughhhh. Anyways, so I went to the fundraiser, kind of got over it because I was determined to not have it ruin my day since there was nothing to be done about it.

I called at the 5k around 7:45am, and he said I needed to be present to pay when he de-boots my car. I was to call back when I returned back home. SO I had a marvelous day with Jenny and Marissa and then after Mar left I called once more... only to find out that our management had asked them not to come boot cars until after sunday, so earlier in the day the guy from University Parking Enforcement or whatever its called came to Regency and unbooted my car. :) so I owed not a cent. :):) what a great ending to a great day. I love good Karma.

I got burned today while swimming...

I did something new at the gym today. I RAN for 2.5 minutes. Now I know that isn't a long time, but it is the longest I have ran in over a year. And my knee doesn't hurt TOO much. It is a bit painful, but at the same time, I was successful. next time I'm going to go for three. I have a goal to hike the Y by the end of the summer. I have high hopes! :)

found out at emily's party to night that Tad has been sharing our text message conversations with his roommate Chad, who I also am friends with.

and he still hasnt talked to me since the incident.

part of me is glad that I am going to Utah. I can get my head straight there perhaps, well maybe because it didn't exactly work out too well over the past year. ugh.

Taking another break

Yeah so I am getting ready to go back to Utah again... and I've been packing ALL day (except for the little break I took to go get my hair cut). I like the new cut, its not much shorter at ALL, but its a better cut for growing my hair out again.

I went on another Itunes spree yesterday. :)

Getting ready

Taking a break from cleaning/organizing/packing.. its difficult because I never fully UNpacked. So the process is taking a bit longer as I decide what I want to take to Utah with me in a week. Its tricky because I am trying to bring less this year, but at the same time, I want to make sure I have enough, and everything I will want. I already have a bag stuffed with clothes for D.I. which is great. :) and this time they aren't crap clothes, but there is some good stuff in there.

I wish I could wear my heels!!! I have a goal for the end of the summer to be able to hike the Y. I WILL DO IT. lol. my knee has been feeling a lot better, and I am looking forward to sleeping on my new 3" memory foam bed covering thing. ahhhh.

I still worry about money a lot, but even if I am really REALLY poor, I can survive, and I know that. I may not have enough money for everything I want, but that is what college is about. As much as I would like to have all the money I want and a nice car and a nicer apartment etc, I think it is ridiculous how many BYU students drive bmws and super nice cars... I just think that those kids are spoiled and have no sense of fiscal responsibility. Again- not that I am a the best example of it, but I will have to work my way through college, with some assistance from my parents.

What?

I am not going to blog about what happened today. Life stinks sometimes, but trials can be blessings in disguise.

Going Back to BYU

So its official. I am going back to Utah for Summer term. I have been thinking about it for a while, but thinking it was not only impossible, but also not a good option for me. I now have about 10 hours per week working for Jenny, and hopefully I can pick up another part-time job to keep making enough money while still going to school.

I am going to take stats for econ and atleast 1 other class while I work and such. I hope that this works out well. I felt like I wasn't really given a clear answer either way when I was praying and fasting about this. So I think the choice is up to me, and things seem to be working out as far as money and school goes. Rachel and Peter will help and support me in my endeavors and I know it will work out, even if it is a challenge. I am grateful for my ability to even make this choice.

Loving the Northwest

I love the Northwest. The trees are lucious, the rain is wet and cool and crisp, the sun is vibrant.. its just amazing.

Today it has rained all day, but the sun is peeping out from some clouds, and because the rain lingers, the beads of rain are sparkling int he tree outside my grandmother's second floor window.

I might start doing some political blogs, but I'm not sure yet. I feel much more informed now that I am a NPR fanatic and a CSPAN junkie. oh, and I read the economist all the time. where has sara gone? she's GONE i tell you!!?!?!

OK the single's ward ISNT so bad

I was too judgemental...

it isnt so bad. Darci, Emily, Malcolm and I all went, and then we met 2 guys who are pretty cool (security sales though... one seems to be a total DB, and he's going into personal training.. 'nuff said)

anyways the other one served his mission in Sao Paulo and seems to be pretty cool. So I judged too quickly, actually not really, but it does seem to be alright for now.
